The replacement filter for the Petoneer Fresco Ez fountain removes magnesium ions, residual chlorine, and heavy metals in the water, prevents the growth and reproduction of bacteria and microorganisms, and softens the water. This is done with ingredients such as activated carbon or ion exchange resin. For the freshest water, Petoneer recommends changing the filter once every 30 days.
